Any prospective OCC nursing students just get the letter that they are eliminating the "striclty" day or evening programs? And that classes/clinicals can be scheduled any time, day or not? What are your thoughts on this. Having a full time job, this basically precludes me from joining the program, this is very frustrating, since i spent the past 3 y ears getting all the pre-req's out of the way!

Hello! I am actually starting on Monday with the nursing program and unfortunately it is true. They instituted this change starting this semester. Before the day program students would start in the fall and the evening program students would start in the spring (which is what it said when I applied a year ago)...Now every semester will have both day and evening lectures that are given to students on a first come first serve basis. The clinicals for Nursing I are also during the day, one day a week....At least for this semester there were no students who had their clinical day on the weekend and I was told by the office manager that there are no evening clinicals...I know how frustrated you are since it was advertised otherwise and now it suddenly changed and you have no choice in what day your clinical is.... I work FT days and fortunately my boss is willing to let me flex my schedule I hope you are able to do so as well. Good Luck!!:)

Bad situation all the way around.
So if you are lucky, it is possible to get the evening classes, but clinicals right now are only being scheduled during the day and only on weekdays? So no evening or weekend clinicals?
For Nursing I yes...definately no evening and there wasn't a weekend clinical this semester and the one last semester got cancelled and changed to a weekday....I did see some students in Nursing III I believe had Saturday
This is so frustrating, how do they expect 400+ students on waiting lists for either day or night to suddenly have a schedule that makes them available days or evenings at the drop of a hat? People chose the day program because their nights are usualy busy, and people choose the evening program because they usualy work during the day or care for kids. Who has the ability to do both at a moments notice? I just spent three years doing my pre-req's for the evening program, was that all a waste? I work full time during the day, with zero flexibility
