You likely will be asked to also have an RN license in that state. The RN compact license rules do not extend to advanced practice and states require an active in-state RN license as a condtition for being granted an NP license. That said, it's probably best to ask the BON for the definitive answer.
Once you no longer maintain residency in the state with a compact license , NCSBN regs requires nurses to obtain a new home state license within 60 days of relocating. You may start the application process prior to or after the move. Most states NP regulations require obtaining RN license first prior to requesting NP license application.

Hi! I just graduated school and applying for an NP license soon. I took a job in a different state from the one I currently work in as a nurse. My RN license is for the state I live in now but I also have a compact license and the state I'm moving too is part of the compact license agreement. Because they are a compact license state can I just use my compact license when applying for the NP license in that state or do I have to apply for an RN license in that state first?
