Developmental milestones. New moms love to hear that kind of stuff and it's east to do. You can do a visually exciting Power Point with lots of cute graphics.
Car seat safety, correct use, and the laws that apply in your state. Borrow a car seat and a cabage patch kid (they're the right size) for demonstration.
Remember for an effective teaching project you will need to:
clearly state the programs objectives
sum up the presentation using the objectives
develop a learner evaluation tool that asks open ended questions, asks if the objectives had been met, if the learner got any new infromation, and how the learner would change the presentation.
do an evaluation of the effectiveness of the program (i.e. at the end of the program the listener will be able to demonstrat the correct placment of the car seat straps)
do a realistic self evaluation.

Hello All, Just need some advice. In our OB clinicals, we are required to do a teaching project - breastfeeding, cord care, etc. for mother and newborn. I have 3 kids - this should be easy for me right? I think I am probably trying to come up with something too creative. Would love any suggestions you may have as more experienced nurses... appreciate any responses. Thanks!!
