Ob medical question

I need help and I have been wrecking my brain..... I am an LPN and I would love feedback from other nurses (specifically someone who specializes in OB/GYN health issues). Well my husband and I have been married a month and found out we were expecting ( we were ecstatic) well at 10 weeks I miscarried and a D&E had to be performed. I have had 3 previous live births with no issues!!! Well 4 days after my procedure I started bleeding clots bigger than my fists. I put my feet up and continued to rest. I called my doctor the next day and told them something wasn't right I have been soaking a depend every 2 hours and I felt light headed when I stood. They asked me to come in for a check up.... After the check up they sent me directly to the ER for an ultrasound. At this point I am having pains that feel like contractions, and still passing fists size clots. They sent me home from the ER and told me to put my feet up if I do not pass the clots the surgery would be repeated in 2 days. I went home and was literally soaking a depend diaper every hour and full of clots, I was sooooo weak, my husband took me back to the same ER and they did immediate surgery and performed a D&C is this normal. My blood count dropped from 12 to 8 in one week....... Has anyone heard of anything like this happening. Will I be ok?!?!
