Specialties Ob/Gyn

hello everyone, I am a new member and also a high school nursing student and I was just curious about birthing plans. We just started the OB/Gyn rotation in school so I don't have the slightest clue to what a birth plan is. So please satisfy my curiosity, thanks.

Simply stated, it's a clear communication to health care providers as to what a birthing family would like/not like for their individual birth experience. The above gives you a "shell" from which a birthing family may choose to devise a birth plan. It's a way for them to let us know how to best meet their needs and expectations during childbirth, but not an iron-clad contract. Hope this helps.

Are you doing a 1+1 program in high school or something? My hat is off to you, must be tough work. Welcome to allnurses.

The program that I am in is a two-year LPN program which starts your junior year of high school and ends the summer of your senior year. It is very difficult but it is a great experience. Upon graduating from the program, the students will receive a diploma and will be eligible to take the state boards.
