Hi everyone,
I am currently an LPN student. I have to do a presentation on the role of the nurse during a circumcision. I have looked in all my books and all I find is the nurses role in care of the circumcision. All I find on the internet is contoversial topics about circumcision. I need to know how the nurse assists the doctor and what he/she does during the actual circumcision. I figured the best answer would come from someone here. Can anyone help me out??
Thank you
:)
My son, as well as my three brothers are uncircumsized, none of them wish that they had been circumsized, and none of them have ever had any problems.
Oh, and by the way. Your son and your three brothers are VERY lucky males. Using personal experiences does not constitute "evidenced based nursing".

As a nurse, I am sure you are more versed on uncircumsized member care and tending. I'd wager to say most of the population is not so educated.
The Academy of Peds as well as many journals "ebb and flow" with public "opinion" and fashion trends.
Again: as a nurse there are TWO or THREE patients: the baby, the mom, the dad. Advocate for all, and respect patient RIGHTS to CHOOSE as they see fit, WITHOUT biased nursing "opinions". Opt out - your choice, but I think it is a disservice to patients.
