There are some good people on this site. When I first had some questions I was completely shunned and felt like a complete loser and didn't come back for a while. Don't let those people get to you. Nurses are supposed to "help" right? But it's too much for them to answer a simple question sometimes. Makes you wonder what other short cuts they take on the job. Anyhow, I'll probably take a bashing for this but I seen it happen too many times and I don't think newbies need that kind of discouragement.
I am actually an LPN, still in school and want to go into neonatal my response was based on my experience here on allnurses, I found alot of info. in the specialty forums which is why I suggested it, I had no answer to give other than direction as to where I found answers to the same kinds of questions that I had about getting into the field I want, and the more I have explored this site the more I have realized just how much info is here. I am sorry that you had a bad experience with this site your first time around and hope it has been better for you this time.

For those who feel they did not receive help, I am sorry. I just hope you don't quit trying because the good outweighs the bad at this site. I think there is so much to offer here and I am grateful for it.

Keep asking those questions; we are here to help!

PS: there is also a "search function" on the site. Feel free to use it. If you are at all unsure how, just PM me, using the link in my signature line. Sometimes it takes me a day or so to get back, but I will answer! There are tons of threads to pour through for information, all at your fingertips, using the search function.

I work in a small hospital, doing both L&D and mom/baby. We do use LPNs in mom/baby, too. Most of the RN's dislike doing mom/baby, but I actually enjoy it. I love to teach, and we have low wnough nurset ratios that I feel like I am actually able to accomplish a lot. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't want to give up L&D, but I also wouldn't want to give up mom/baby.
