Just curious about HG

Hey, OB nurses! I was just curious how proactive your practices are regarding hyperemesis gravidarum. I had it with my first baby with 3 ER visits, one 4-day hospital stay, and oral zofran from 14 weeks to delivery date. With my second pregnancy, my OB wrote a script for zofran at my initial visit so I'd have it with the first sign of nausea. Unfortunately it didn't work and I had 2 ER visits, one 4-day hospital stay, one overnight stay, home health services for IV infusions, and wearing a zofran subcu pump for a month. All that was between 7 weeks and 11 weeks, and I was on oral zofran and meclazine until delivery. Fortunately both my boys are healthy (first was 7#3oz, second was 8# 6oz) and smart and full of personality. A coworker was pregnant over the summer and had repeated ER visits and finally got a script for oral zofran, but she miscarried. I suggested my OB if she were to get pregnant again because he was a LOT more proactive than hers.
