Oakland University - ABSN Spring 2011

Hi all,

I am just wondering if anyone is out there that is interviewing now for Oakland University's Spring 2011 cohort? I have my interview coming up and am getting really nervous -excited! Also, my prereq GPA isn't the best (as compared to others I'm sure) and was wondering if anyone out there can advise on getting in with a lower GPA - if it's possible? Any tips for the interview would be helpful too!

I just interviewed for Summer 2011. I'm not sure how it went, but my hopes are not high. Did you get in? When did you hear?

Haven't heard anything yet and I have set my expectations low as well....so hang in there - maybe we will be pleasantly surprised.

Why don't you feel optimistic? Is it just because there are many applicants??

Honestly, my hopes are not high because I've been told no by 2 other schools (UofM and UDM). I don't think my interview was bad necessarily, but I also don't feel like it went exceptionally well. There were definitely a lot of applicants. I've also heard that if you are accepted, you should receive an email about a week after your interview. I've heard nothing and am nervous.

Where did you hear that you would be notified by email so quickly? Keep your head up. I don't feel very confident either, but I am trying to stay positive.

I heard from people who have been accepted to the program previously (like in 2009). I'm trying to stay positive too. It's hard though. I just got a rejection letter from EMU, where I was actually on the alternate list. I'm guessing their class filled up and they didn't need as many alternates. Ugh.... Please let me know when you hear anything. I fell like I am going crazy. :) I think the interviewers told me it would be 3-4 weeks until we hear.

Hi Everyone,

I also interviewed last month for the May 2011 start date and I think they said we would hear back in early to late August. I'm not sure how my interview went but I thought that once you got to the final interview stage that getting in was not that difficult. My grades for my recent prerequite classses were pretty good but I was wondering if anyone knows how many people were interviewed vs. how many are accepted. I wish I would have asked that question in the interview but perhaps they would not have answered it anyway. :)

I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything yet. I saw one post where someone got their acceptance letter today. Nothing in the mail for me today. This is so incredibly hard!! Please let me know!
