Hi everyone,

Im new to the website. I am currently taking pre-req classes at occ highland lakes campus. Planning on applying for the nursing program in December 2018. Is there anyone in the same boat?

Im so anxious I applied in December 2018 now just waiting... what were some of the scores you all had??

I also applied December 2018 and anxiously awaiting! I applied with 17 points. I am going to request winter start so that I won't have to worry about child care for my kids over the summer for Pharmacology!

My score is 15.6. Hope that will get me in. I also want to start Jan 2020. I need to hold on to my full time job as long as possible.

Hey everyone, I applied to the OCC nursing program this past December 2018. I have a 4.0 GPA and a score of 17 and am hoping to get the fall start so that I can take pharmacology in the summer. Does the fall cohort finish the program earlier/graduate sooner/able to write NCLEX sooner? Please advise. Also, how soon do clinical's start, 1st or 2nd semester? Would we have a clinical placement in the fall or winter? Or do they begin as soon as pharmacology is completed? Does anyone know if a person becomes pregnant during the program (and is an excellent student/maintains good relationships with professors), how does the "incomplete mark" process work? Has anyone gone through the program while pregnant or with a newborn? I don't have any kids but my husband and I are open to the possibility (biological clocks are ticking hahah). If needed, I could quit my job to just focus on balancing school and a baby. Buttt, we may just wait until the program is over. I want to keep all doors open!!! Last note, I am planning on transferring into Oakland University's online RN-BSN program after writing the NCLEX. I am taking the Psychology Human Development class at OCC to transfer into it. Anyone else planning on doing the same thing? My end goal is to become a Nurse Practitioner. I'm hoping to work as an ICU nurse after graduating from OCC. What are your goals!?!? I'm hoping to make some life long, quality friendships in this program. Let's support and lift one another up!

I'm nervous my score is 14/17? I got B's in all my required classes I plan to transfer to OU for my bachelors. I know if you go online to OCC Nursing website they do have the handbook and call answer all you questions, well most of them. Do we have to take pharmacology first?? also do any of you have repeated classes or transfers

Hello! I think we do have to take pharmacology first. I've been looking in past forums. So it depends on when you want to start. If Fall start then you will take pharm in summer. If winter start then you will take pharm in Fall. This is what I've gathered.

And I'm sure you will be fine! You got this! I also plan on transferring to OU or EMU for my BSN.

i’m sooooo nervous that i won’t get in. i got mostly B- and i had one repeated class but i took them all at occ. i’m freaking out

See I was thinking of going to EMU but I would need to take organic chem. I would want to start in the fall! I hope we all get in I just want to know already!!

I’m freaking out as well I got one B- and the rest are all B’s I have 1 transferred classes but I don’t think it will count against me because it’s less then 8 credits... I’m sure we will be fine!
