O.R residency

Hello everyone,

I've been a LPN for 15 years, but I am back in school to finish my R.N as it has always been my dream to work in the O.R!

I live in the Chicago burbs and I am trying to find a hospital(s) that have O.R nurse residency programs with no luck. Does anyone know what hospitals do, or where I can search???

Hi Jen,

Oftentimes the big academic hospitals have nurse residencies / New Grad programs so I would recommend starting to look there. If you are not already a member /student member of AORN, consider joining as there is a career center on the website where such nursing vacancies are posted. Also consider posting on the facebook group page The OR Life as it has a huge following and people are eager to give info and "the in" on open positions and residencies there.
