NYU Langone Nurse Residency

Hi everyone! I graduate December 2021 and am just trying to get an idea of what hospitals I want to apply to. It would be a dream to get an offer from NYU, but I do have some questions and I was hoping maybe some NYU nurses could help. First off, what is the best timeline to apply? I work at Jersey Shore Medical Center now as a tech and they said I can start applying for nurse residency in September. Does anyone know how competitive/difficult it is to get a nurse residency position at NYU? I have 6 years tech experience as well as a nurse externship I will complete this Summer. Second, what are some of the best and also affordable locations to live in if offered a position with NYU? I want to get an idea of what areas in NYC would have a convenient commute and also don’t have me living paycheck to paycheck to pay rent. I heard NYU has nurse housing and that’s something I would be interested in! However, I’m unsure how likely it is for me to get one of those apartments and I would love more information on the nurse housing.
