Hi everyone! Has anyone had any luck in getting an interview, or successfully getting into the program? It doesn't seem like NYU has a deadline or application date period like other residency programs do. I heard that they like to hire internal applicants/externs, so I'm wondering if any external applicants have gotten jobs there, and when you applied and heard back?
Any insight would be awesome!! Thank you :)

I've applied to a couple jobs with NYU and haven't had any luck. Is there a way to apply directly to the residency program? I thought you just had to apply for a job with them that accepts new grads
Yup, exactly what you said. I heard that that the newest cohort has received offers already.

I graduated in May, and have applied to several positions since March as an external new grad applicant. The status of my application on the website has never said anything but "Application Received." I feel like if you're not an internal applicant, you probably need to know somebody there, which is frustrating, but I'm trying to stay hopeful!

yeah unfortunately this is true, i even applied for the extern program and NOTHING! its really just a bummer nobody wants anyone unless the have 1 yr acute care experience i mean...how are we supposed to get that!?
Okay, so my best friend's sister was hired there as a new grad 2 years ago, and she told me about 80% of all new grads hired graduated from NYU and had connections/prior employment there!!! So she basically told me to look elsewhere

I was hired there recently and im not an NYU grad. I also know a friend who was hired there who wasn't an NYU grad. It is possible to get in there if you graduated somewhere else. The biggest thing that i think helped me was putting my GPA on my resume (only if u have 3.5+).

I was hired and I am not a NYU grad.
Most applicants are probbaly NYU students because they went to school there and did their clinicals there.
All you need is a 3.5 GPA.
Once you get the call just show your passion for NYU and be good at interviewing.
Once you actually come in for the in person interview: pass the math test with 100% and you're set.
The rest is on you and how you do during your nurse manager interview.

Hi, how long do they usually take before you get a call? I applied about a month ago. It still shows under review.
