NYC nurse recruitment agencies- Is Horizon Healthcare trustworthy?

Hi Guys,

I'm an irish trained nurse with a new york state license. I have been applying for jobs in new york since i received my nclex results last june.

I got an email from Horizon Healthcare Staffing to ask if i needed sponsorship or can i just work in the USA. I replied to her that yes, I needed sponsorship and she said she'd put me in touch with people who deal with that. The name of "those people" are call One Call Staffing. I was contacted by a lady there and eventually managed to have a phone conversation after some emailing back and forth as I needed to be working before they could arrange to place me in NYS. After a very short conversation she told me that Horizon were interested in me and are willing to sponsor me which would take approximately 18months. Of course being very excited I was in a freeze and didn't ask any questions. She is emailing me on all of the documentation etc required for the process.

I guess my question is, after hearing so much about people being scammed desperately trying to work in the USA, can I trust them? Does it all sound legit for anyone else who's been in this situation? And why me out of all the applications that are received for jobs!?

Ive nearly 3 years experience 2 in renal specifically but I'm not classed as having a speciality. I'm a registered nurse with a bachelor of science and 3 different licenses for 3 different countries.
