Nybon Nursing School Under Investigation

I finished my LPN-RN program from Carleen Health Institute. I took the NCLEX under New York state board and passed the exam. I'd been waiting on the license a couple of weeks and decided to call NYbon, was told the school is under review - hence they would not be issuing any licenses till the review is done. They also wouldn't give a time frame. Does anyone have any idea how long these reviews usually take or what could be done in situations like this?

Everything happens for a reason. Even when we don't know what that reason is.

I live in fl and I call fl BON they told me the only option I have is to take the NCLEX again with them because they don't have problem with the schools that are on the list

No. Even your NCLEX scores areheld during education review so you cannot have them sent to another BON.

Hi! Can we take the NCLEX again?

Sigma Institute was not there. Trust me I know because I have been following a while. This was just recently added. Check the previous list added before.

I also called NYBON before and they did say my school was under review. The second time I called, they used the word investigation. My school wasn't on this list then but it is now.

They added it on the list on Jan 24th. Iam so frustrated about the whole thing! When I finally passed my board now I cant get my license

I went to sigma too? I took it in the 13th of last month and I passed, NY BON DDNT issue me a licence number because they told me they added sigma on the list on the 24th of January, can I seat for the board again for Fl? Because I don't know how long they going to take and I need to start working?

I don't suggest anyone retaking the NCLEX in another state if your school is under review. Once they issue you a license and you start working on that license and if anything comes out of it that's where the problem comes and a bad situation for your license to be under investigation

The problem here is that things are not always handled the way it should be because a lot of people ended up get ATTs and shouldn't have because the schools were already under review and I don't know how or why that happened

You can choose to do as you please but please be aware that if anything is actually wrong with the school you went to then the other board will have no choice but to revoke your license. I understand that you want a license but it's not worth it if you can never practice in the field again

Florida BON is giving everyone that advice because they frankly don't care about the illegal stuff going on right now but hospitals are now starting to ask where people went to school and putting people on leave because of the investigation. Florida will have no chose but to revoke licenses if told to do so by state or FBI

I understand! A lot of us actually went to school if they know how many students who bought the fake diplama why they don't go after them

They can't know who actually did until the investigation is over and they aren't only investigating fraud diplomas they are also investigating if you Education is equivalent to other accredited programs before they can issue you a license if not you will just have to get your license in another state so either wait it's best to wait and see

Has anyone received an email from NYBON regarding the 3 schools involved stating their license will be revoked? I saw the email for the nurses in Georgia. I would like to know how they are choosing who to send emails to seeing as they don't know who actually attended and who did not. The NY state education department says it themselves that people who were not involved in the fraud might be affected and this is unfair. If there's a class action lawsuit, I'm interested in finding out more.
