I don't know anyone else in nursing school in NY state other than people at my own school. We were told that we're not allowed to start IVs at clinical because of a state law. Is that true for other nursing students in NY? Thanks! ~Jane

I went to Alfred, we started iv's on each other but rarely on patients. We did push iv meds in clinical.

Weird. I feel cheated!! We were not allowed to do them at CNR and we were not even taught the theoretical aspect of it, let alone the technical skills of it. Now I moved out of state and got a job on a CCU in California and I don't know how to start IV's...how embarrassing.
