? about School that's working toward their accreditation

Published

I pasted this info. from The New York Institute of Technology:

Accreditation

The curriculum of NYIT's Department of Nursing is registered with the New York State Education Department, Division of Professional Education. The department is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), and we are currently working toward accreditation by the AACN's Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), a national accreditation agency.

What would this mean for someone that graduates from their nursing program (It is a bachelor's program)? - re: jobs, continuting education and so forth?

Is it bad news when a school doesn't have full accreditation?

It needs to be accredited by NY state. If it is not then do not go there.

Hey. what about a new school who is in their second year of having a program. they are not yet accredited because the get evaluated i believe after a full two years of having a program. I guess i should not go if i get accepted. Thats concordia college by the way.

Personally I would not do it. Nursing school is extremely hard & stressful I couldn't take the stress of the school possibly not being accredited by the state of NY.

Still, if you have no other option you may want to take that chance. It might just work out for you..
