NY LPN license endorsement

Published

Hello everyone,

I recently passed by LPN/LVN exam and got my license from NYBON. Due to some family reason i will not be able to reside in New York and have to move to Texas. I planned on endorsing my license to Texas BON but they told me i will not be able to practice as an LPN.

I am a foreign RN graduate and was not able to pass my RN boards in NY. Instead i decided to challenge the LPN exam and passed with 89 questions in my 1st attempt.

Texas board of nursing told me i cannot work as an LPN as i graduated as an RN.

Now i am so devastated with the news and don't know what to do anymore. Is there anyone who have similar kind of situation and if there are any other options?

It's not uncommon that a challenged LPN license is not endorsable to other states. NJ, TX, OK are three states that will only endorse LPN licenses for those who graduated from a school of practical nursing

Why not apply to TXBoN for an RN license by examination as an internationally educated nurse?
