i'd start by looking in your textbooks or in nursing journals for issues that are prevalent in nursing.
i wrote a paper on social support in the prevention of low birth weight babies. it was all about insurance, nursing support, government responsibility, avaliability of nursing services and medical care, patient education, encouragement of family support, etc.
if i remember correctly, my thesis (or theory) tied all of these issues together.
basically, i just looked in my maternal health book. read a section about lbw babies and said, how can i prevent this from happening. so i read up more about it and researched articles and came up with my issue.
of course, it doesn't have to be that indepth. look at maslow, buscalgia, and madeline leininger's theories, and others for ideas about theories to give you a starting point.
good luck!:studyowl:
You have your four metaparadigm concepts: person, environment, nursing, and health. How do you define those four things? Who is the client? Where does nursing take place? How do we define health? What is the nurse's role?
There's no real right or wrong answer, just how you define those things. Do some brainstorming, write out your thoughts for each concept, and then put it into paragraph form.
