Nursing students.. HELP!! I'm TERRIFIED!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Nursing students,

I am a pre-nursing student and taking my pre-reqs. I'm a returning student with a bachelors degree in a non-nursing related field. I had advanced anatomy in high school and loved it. I have great study habits and a 3.7 GPA on my bacehlors degree. I'm passionate about science and becoming a nurse, but I'm absolutely terrified about making a mistake when I become a nurse. I'm absolutely terrified that I'll go through schooling and put more money in student loan debt and be scared out of my mind daily on whether I'll make a mistake as a nurse. I'm terrified of overlooking an illness or misdiagnosing.. Is anyone else absolutely terrified and what would you suggest doing to calm my fears?

any advice would be appreciated..

Thanks.

yay! that's a good start!

it is normal to feel that way. that fear can be used to your advantage. it will make you stop and think before you do something!

there are ways around that. i worked as a pct in a hospital with tuition reimbursement and a scholarship program. i went to a community college. my education was close to being free.

no sweat. nurses don't diagnose. that's the doctor's job ;)

your fears are very common. it's a big deal to do this and requires a solid commitment.

best wishes!
