Hi everyone!

I am currently working towards my associate degree in nursing RN. After i graduate i want to work a little to get some experience and then go back to further my education. Ive thought about tons of career pathways with my RN, like nurse practioner, nurse manager, adminstrative clinician, the list is never ending. my problem is im not so sure what i want to do... I have very strong interests in OBGYN. Its my main reason i choose to become a nurse. Ive thought about becoming a nurse midwife. I also have an interests in pathophysiology of diseases and disorders as well as research that goes along with this. I love research. Rightnow i think if i could get into research nursing, like research about obgyn complications such as preterm, preeclampsia, etc then it would be my dream job. I think id like to be the person in the lab researching placentas or cells and other related obgyn.Does anyone have advice for me? Is there such a job out there?

PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks!

Well, I won't say it can't be done, but what you're describing is more Medical Technologist/BS in Biology/doctoral student, than RN. As an ADN in research, I would expect you to be working with patients, performing assessments, doing questionnaires, etc..

I know that several pharmaceutical companies have Phase I facilities, across the country. If you are in the midwest, or have interest in coming to the region, feel free to PM me, and I'll see if I can scrounge some contact info for you.:)
