Once I finish this semester of the Nursing Program I can apply to my local hospital to work as a CNA. I really want to apply and get some experience working PRN while I'm in school. I need to submit a resume but I'm coming up blank on how to incorporate my school and clinical experience/hours in the resume. Any tips on how any of you have done it or websites that may be of help are greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

Props on deciding to work as a CNA. This will put you ahead of the other nursing students as long as you keep your eyes and ears open during your time at work. Ask questions and observe.
1. mention any particular classes or certifications you have completed.
2. Address your attention to detail, desire to serve others, and caring spirit
3. Count your hours and present them on your resume under education, this can be significant because it may put you ahead of fresh out of CNA class applicants
4. Don't discount other jobs-for example, when I applied for a CNA job and my first nursing job, I focused on my experience as a waiter and ability to "triage" the needs of customers and also on my experience working a front desk as an example of human interaction/customer service, and my experience working in a florist/nursery for its attention to detail.
Focus on your strengths from a variety of areas, not just what you lack from not working in nursing.

You can mention what you've practiced as a student when you're going for a CNA job- vital signs, mobility, bathing, feeding, etc., because your target employer might not know what your program teaches first semester students.
Remember when you graduate, though, not to list all that stuff, because people looking to hire nurses know what they had to do to graduate. It'll be a different level of resume then.
