Nursing Student Networking

Published

Specializes in Medical Surgical.

Hi I am a senior nursing student set to graduate in May 2010. I keep hearing about the hiring freeze and it makes me wonder if I waited to late to come back to school. I have 7 years of experience in the health care field, working in and out of hospitals. I have been a CNA and Phlebotomist and currently working on completing my nursing degree. I have a degree already in Psychology that I obtained in 2007. My question is, what hospitals are hiring and how do you network and make connections with individuals working in the hospitals. I am planning to move back to the chicagoland suburbs and I know hiring for new nurses is rough. Any suggestions or if anyone wants to talk I would really appreciate it. I am a loyal, dedicated, hardworking individual. Who is extremely passionate about the field of nursing. I would not be going to work just for a pay check, I want to go to work to make a difference in people's lives. Any suggestions or anyone who would like to help Please message back. I would greatly appreciate it.

I think you shouldn't worry much about this yet, at least not until you graduate.

With your experience as a CNA, and your attitude I'm sure not going to have a hard time finding a job.

The networking thing, maybe you can ask around during clinicals in the hospitals I'm sure the nurses will help you out.

Good Luck! :)
