Hello, I'm a nursing student and I need a little help. I'm trying to find out if there is a formula that will calculate the proper dosage to give a child meds. I know you have to factor in the height, weight, and time between treatment. Is there a formula?

Usually meds in peds are calculated mg/kg of body weight. The MD/CNP will order the med and you check the dose to see if it is in the safe range to give. -Benny
