  2. ***? Healthcare=no drugs. I work in an ED....any meds missing equals a screen on everybody. smoke pot=U R done. -love, benny
  3. If you have already tried heparin therapy, maybe get an order for TPA therapy and get that PICC going again. :>
  4. This is a negative thread as well.
  5. Never complain, contradict, or criticize people above you and you'll just do fine. Just focus on being a better nurse (unless a patient is in danger). These are the rules of business from a guys point of view.
  6. I'm assuming the "pounding on her chest" she was talking about was them doing CPR???? It's called a precordial "thump". Its used to covert the person back into NSR. Its used sometimes while you are waiting for a defibrilator. I'm sorry about your situation. I can't imagine.
  7. Are you allergic to latex? Try using plastic gloves.
  8. It depends on the state but I think if you are reimbursed in ANY way then you are liable as a RN. I would check your hospital protocol as well.
  9. Howdy, The answer is true if the instructor means microgram. This can be abbreviated two ways: mcg or mg. The last one (mg), the m will have a little tail on the end of it. I always use mcg because most likely you are dealing with a critical med. -Benny
  10. Hey all, I will get my RN this coming may. I am planning to go the ec route because i will already have 160+ credit hours of undergrad (including adn) under my belt. Anyone here of any problems with this? Since I will have my RN from a accredited school, should I worry about having a BSN from EC? -Benny
  11. Usually meds in peds are calculated mg/kg of body weight. The MD/CNP will order the med and you check the dose to see if it is in the safe range to give. -Benny

Steph, I am in nursing school and I'm due to get my BSN in April 2005. I have had no previous experience in healthcare. I love nursing. If you are born to be a nurse then that alone will guide you. Follow your heart and not the academic process. -Benny
  13. I refuse to wear a dress.....it makes my legs look so hairy!! :roll
  14. they be just looking for criminal stuff , hun.....don't worry. I know this for a fact. Only start to worry if you have a felony!
  15. I was shopping around for a new lab coat and couldn't find one that fits! Guys are just built different. The coats that fit me are the long ones that MD's use. Anyone know a good company that carries men's nursing clothes? -Benny
