It probably is something where they want to get to know the candidates better. They figure that you shuld already know something about the program if you want to attend there. They want to know why. They want to know things like why do you want to attend there, did you apply anywhere else, why do you want to be a nurse, what do you plan to do in after graduation with your nursing degree? They want to know how hard are you willing to work? They want to know those kinds of things. Think of it as a job interview in a way. In a job interview they want to know if you will be a good fit for the job. In a nursing school meeting/interview they want to do if you are going to be a good fit for nursing school/nursing.
