Watches

Nurses Uniform/Gear

Hi all,

I'm having a hard time finding a watch. I have read old threads on this topic as well, but still couldn't find what I'm looking for. For clinicals I am required to have a watch with a sweeping second hand (little to no ticking?). This is really the main reason I'm having a bit of trouble. I have looked online everywhere and it seems these types of watches are extremely expensive. I also want a watch that's analog, water resistant, glows in the dark, and has military time. The band I can buy separate because I prefer no rubber, leather, or latex (for allergy purposes & leather can stain skin). Any recommendations??? I don't know if I'm being too picky, but anything with a sweeping second hand would be perfect!!!

Thank you in advance

I'm a big Seiko 5 fan, but here's an alternative. Sapphire crystal, some degree of water resistance (you might research how the stated numbers are not "real"), and military time scale. Plus it's on sale. Also check out Traser Pulse:

- it's tacticool

- you can wear it in the wrist or on your coat like a pro of the medicine

- it has a pulsometre

Took me a minute to figure out how that worked, you start at one of the 3 points and then count fifteen beats and look a the corresponding outside dial at 15 beats will show you the minute pulse rate. though, by the time you wait 10 seconds for it to get to the next start line, you could have just counted 15 seconds of pulse and multiplied by 4 getting a more accurate result anyway.

If you can afford it, get an iWatch! I got mine during nursing school and you can set the display to that of a clock with a sweeping second hand. I know because I used mine for taking pulses and respirations. I absolutely love it and its definitely worth every penny.

I've used both a watch that pins to my scrub top but to be honest, the watch I like best/use most often is my fitbit watch. I have it set where I have a second hand, I use it for timing tests, I've had no issues using it and many nurses I work with wear them.
