Nursing schools - Studying methods

Do you feel that classes in nursing school....employ for the most part a "self-teaching" model, i.e. one has to do all the studying on their own for the most part, with the instructor just perhaps reviewing the material or just going over the material partially?

Is this true even for the highly ranked (top 20) schools in nursing?
