Hello, I am 21 and I am going to start community college early next year to start my prereqs for nursing. I was wondering, do all nursing programs in Los Angeles area have waiting list? Do i have to have a degree in another field of study to be able to apply for BSN programs?

I live in SoCal and nursing is highly impacted and some schools have a wait list while some have an alternate list (It's different from a waitlist because you have to reapply if you don't get picked from the alternate list)
You do not need need a degree in another area to be in the BSN program; you just need to have completed the prerequisites. There is an accelerated BSN program for those who have a bachelor's degree in a different field.
Do not get a degree in another field if nursing is what you want because it's a waste of your money.
