Hello, I am interested in becoming LPN in BC.
I am looking for the schools to start LPN, but I found that there are so many nursing schools in BC include a public and a private.
I found that private schools are easy to enter but the tuition fee is too high, on the other hand; public schools are cheaper but the wait list is too long. I saw that 2 years of wait list from now to enter Vancouver Community College.
Since I want to start asap, I am thinking to going one of the private schools. One of my friend graduated from the Sprott Shaw and she had great experiences. But my concern is people's perspectives of students who graduated from a private school in the field.
What would be the main differences after the graduate from a private v/s public school?
Will there any benefit if I go to the public school?

I'd hold off and go to the VCC programme. They've been graduating PNs for decades and have a brilliant reputation.
A two year waitlist doesn't always mean two years. Peoples plans change. When I applied to my training course, I was told it would be a nine month wait. I got a call six weeks later and asked if I could start in September not January. You just never know.
Do a search there are various threads on private schools in BC. Sprott Shaw had a really poor reputation for a very long time.
Thank you for the advice. I have one more question..
Do you know anything about getting the PN licence while in the RN program (I mean while schooling the RN)? I heard that it was possible to get the PN licence if you finish 1st or 2nd semester. Not sure how that changed now, and cannot find the information about this!

It is not possible anymore, they changed it about a year ago.
