Hello, I am going to be applying to VCU School of Nursing (Virginia Commonwealth University) for Fall of 2013; I would like to receive some feedback on my chances of being accepted into a four year university program, specifically VCU. I have recently finished my pre-requisites with a solid 4.0 GPA at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College in Richmond, VA. I am currently an EMT and I will be obtaining my CNA certification over the summer in preparation for nursing school; I am also CPR and First Aid certified. Previously, I have attended Randolph-Macon College as a Biology major, but decided to change my major to nursing. While attending R-MC, I was an attendant in charge on the college's emergency medical team for approximately one year; this team was also affiliated with Ashland Volunteer Rescue Squad. Other medical experience in high school include: student athletic trainer and EMT. My high school GPA is not amazing by any means, and certainly does not reflect my best academic effort. I have made a significant change in my academics and look forward to my future in nursing...hopefully! Sorry for the long post, but I would like to receive honest feedback and suggestions about my chances of being accepted into some of the top Virginia nursing schools, specifically Virginia Commonwealth University. Thank you for your time, it is greatly appreciated!
