If there is someone who you think could provide a good reference or letter of recommendation then don't be afraid to ask them! The worst they'll say is no and you'll be in the same position you were in originally. I include my letters of recommendation with all my scholarship applications even if they aren't requested. It never hurts to have someone else say something positive about you

Has anybody been a recipient of a scholarship specifically for nursing school? If so, what tips do you have for a successful essay? What was it about you that made you stand out from the others?
I'm applying to nursing school this year, and I would like to prepare myself on what I need to get done. I've been volunteering at the hospital in the pre-op unit and I work as a nurse's aide at a retirement home. Is there anything else you would suggest that could strengthen my credentials?
