Nursing School Exams: TEAS?

Published

Hello all.

I was wondering who all here has taken the TEAS exam. How was it for you? Going through the practice exam books and such make it seem like it's going over everything you've ever learned in school but the base level things for every subject within the subjects. Does that make sense? I'm sorry if it doesn't. My brain is fried from studying while also trying to finish my Spring semester classes out with all A's. I have a 4.0 science GPA right now and I'm trying to maintain it. Phew, let's hope for the best.

Thread moved to TEAS forum for best response. Good luck.

I just took the TEAS in May 4th. As this was the final hurdle in the application process for the program I want to get into, I can honestly say that I was nervous. With that said, I was able to get a 92% on my first and only try after a few days of studying. My lowest section was Reading (87.2%). I think 1) this section was a little harder than what I practiced and/or 2) my nerves since this was the first section. I think my nerves had a hand inI bought the Mometrix book to go over and both practice exams from ATI. You need to know the body systems in more detail than what is given in the study books, but not too much more. I personally felt that the practice exams (especially the ATI) were a great indicator for me on how I would do on the actual exam. Time yourself for each section and keep in mind the actual exam may have more questions than what you are prepping for. Also, after you finish each section (mainly in regards to the ATI practice exams) go back and read over the rationales whether you got the question correct or not.

Depending on how much time you have, there is a Youtuber (Blossom With Jessica) who self-taught herself the sciences. She has a general video for how she got a 95% and then videos for each section. Give yourself plenty of time to study and master your sciences the first time. This will save you so much time down the line.

Best wishes!
