Nursing school exams

Ok, I am in my first semester of nursing school and I am wondering what your tricks are for the crazy wordy very confusing exam questioning! I went in for my first exam knowing the content and it was a huge confidence buster when I didn't score as high as I thought I would. I got a 78% which is awful for me. Suggestions? Advice? Experience? Love? Comfort? Hahahahaha help!

Figure out what the question is really asking and don't look at the answer options until you're sure you understand the question. First semester, I did a lot of writing on the test booklet. I'd underline stuff that was important and cross out stuff that wasn't, then try to figure out what I'd do in the situation before I looked at the answer options. Helped a lot.
