DO NOT GO TO MARIA!! I have heard to many complaints about that school. Their NCLEX pas rates are like 65%. My friend did biology there, wasted thousands of dollars because the teacher did not used book. One girl in my nursing class had to switch over because of poor, biased instructors.

i know this is like a year later but i checked MC nclex pass rate and it has been above 80% for the past several years. 2008 pass rate was 90 percent

Again..there pass rate in recent years has been like 75%. Going to that college you may not even graduate! I know how this school operates ever since a new director took over. They are for profit and do not care what info they give student. I have passed Samaritan's program and we had 4 Maria college students there....We all passed and the program was difficult. Students there are taught well and appreciate the SAmaritan program.

I really hate to argue but maria college is a non profit college, this is info from their website. I do hear bad things about Maria college but never any details as to why. MC is my only option for getting into a nursing school without waiting years so I will just try to make the most of it.

Again..my friend is 15'000 in debt b/c of them..didnt finish school. I have heard from about 10 people who had bad experiences withthem in recent years. tehy were a good school about 7 yrs ago it seems. The last class my friend attended, the biology teacher told them to follow along with their own notes and didnt use a text book (?)....Screw that school. Make the most it for those already going.

I will be attending Maria College this fall. And I've heard mixed reviews about their nursing program. I'm hoping to make the best of it also but I guess I just have to wait and see. I spoke to some recents graduates via facebook and they had no complaints, just that you have to study, study, study (as with any nursing program) FYI their nclex pass rate for 2008 was really over 90%

Hey,

for everyone that got into the Maria College program...how competitve is their program? Is it easy to get into?

Maria is as competitve as any other nursing program, I feel. You have to write a letter of intent to get into the program and then the decision is in there hand. I've heard they favor students who take their pre-reqs there. And though they only require a C in them, I know students who have taken their pre-reqs there and passed all them and still did not get in. Hope this helps.
