I'm a graduate student from California State University, Sacramento with a BS in Nutrition. I have completed pre-reqs and core classes required for most nursing programs in the area, however, my GPA is lacking. Overall I have a 3.2, but my science GPA factoring A&P 1/2 and Microbio is only a 2.4. (I worked full time throughout college to help pay for tuition, and regret my poor science grades due to stretching myself too thin.)
Nursing school is what I want, and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get there. My overall goal is to become an RN. I would appreciate any advice on what my options are. If there are any ABSN programs in California that accepts low gpa's, that would be my primary choice. Would you suggest doing an LVN program, then a bridge program to RN?
Any and all advice is appreciated!

I applied for the traditional BSN programs so I am not too sure about applicant statistics for ABSN programs in California. I remember the Cal State LA ABSN program requried a 3.0 in all science classes and I'm not sure if other programs are similar. While I can't tell you what school accepts low science GPA I can recommend going to California's Board of Registered Nursing website and look at the accredited programs there and start looking up information. If you don't mind paying outrageous tuition I heard West Coast University accepts low GPAs.
Perhaps someone that was in your position can offer better advice than I have.
