Hi guys,
I am looking at ABSN schools and they all require a set of prerequisites. I already have a degree in BS degree in Biotechnology so I kinda completed few courses like chemistry, microbiology but the colleges are not transferring them for credits because I did my BS in a different country (I already did my WES evaluation done). So how could I complete my prerequisites in order to apply for ABSN programs? If I choose to take classes in a university for all my prerequisites how long will it take for me to complete them? My worry is that I do not want to spend four years in BSN but I also heard ABSN is priced high; so is it possible for me to work while I put myself through ABSN degree. Please Help!

Rather difficult to provide any information since you do not say what prerequisite courses are required.
Anatomy and Physiology (one and two with labs) are sequential thus you are looking at one year (two semesters) to complete both. Many colleges/universities offer A&P as a summer course but am here to tell you that is not for the faint hearted.
As for the balance of the prerequisites much will depend on what they are and your academic skills. Some students have no problems doing 12 or 14 credits per semester including A&P, micro and perhaps chemistry, thus will finish the usual basic set of such classes in one year (again depending upon what is required). Others need to space things out in order not to become overwhelmed therefore it will take them longer to finish.
Whatever route you choose keep in mind many programs will not accept grades For many nursing programs, BSN, ABSN or whatever the application process is remarkably cut and dry. Either you have the grades and test scores to get in, or you don't. Competition in many areas of the USA for entry into any nursing program is stiff, IMHO you'll need at least a "B" cumulative GPA in your prereqs as a minimum to be competitive.
