Welcome to ATL! I can't really recommend anywhere in the city to live because I am out away from it, but I do know that it isn't a great area around Clarkston. The campus is fine, but Clarkston itself has a lot of crime and drama.
I took some required GPC classes online like electives in physical education or art. Others I think could be taken online with no problem like political science, history, stuff like that. I personally wouldn't take chemistry, A & P I or II, or microbiology online because I really needed to be able to ask the prof. questions, put my hands on models, do a study group, etc. to actually understand some of the complicated material. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you have to take the labs in person anyway and they are co-requisites. You know your own learning style best though and if you were awesome at math/science/chemistry/biology in high school then maybe online would work for you. I do really like that I can work at my own pace often in online courses.
Best of luck!
