what is a persuasive paper? Never heard of it

A persuasive paper attempts to win the reader over to a specific point of view. The writer does not make any attempt to hide bias towards one side or the other. An informative paper on the other hand only informs the reader of the facts surrounding an issue. Unlike the persuasive paper, an informative paper should be objective.

1. How to help/discipline nurses who have diverted drugs.

2. How patients can use PG surveys wisely to get their point across to hospital administration.

3. How visiting family members can be supportive of their loved one and help encourage the hospital stay to go well.

4. Encouraging "pet therapy" and rallying healthcare facilities to accommodate it.

5. Should/shouldn't the push for BSN prepared nurses be supported by the general public.

6. Is nursing truly a profession?

Just a quick comment on this question....NOT in my world!!! Many times I have to decide to care for the chart or care for the patient. Of course the patient wins, but it could certainly come back to bite me on the butt someday. "If it wasn't charted, it wasn't done".

It takes 14 clicks before I can chart fetal heart tones, 8 clicks for visual acuity, only 6 clicks for vital signs, but each item has it's own click. And of course, that doesn't include the double log on with username and password and waking up the computer. But that is another discussion.

Rant over....continue previous discussion :)
