The gross side of nursing..
Do you ever get used to the smells or get used to seeing throw up? I'm hoping that once I see it a lot I will not have such a weak stomach. is there anything any of you do to not let the smells or gross stuff get to you? I don't want to pass out on my first day of nursing school!

Shadowing
Thank for all the information! I will definitely look into volunteering! I am about to start senior year in high school! I am almost positive I'm going into nursing. I just wanted to see what all is done. Working with kids is a huge passion of mine, it's my dream job. I've also heard that it is very hard to get into Pediatrics. Hopefully I can do good enough in nursing school to work my dream job!

Where do I start first?
I am a senior in high school, and looking in pursuing nursing. I had a school in mind which only offers LPN degrees. I love the school and what they offer, but I don't want to just be a LPN I would love to be a pediatric nurse. My thought was to get my LPN that way I can have a job while I work on getting my RN. would this be a good way to start out? After I get my LPN Can I start nursing school right off the bat or will I have to go through 4 years of Gen-eds? :)
