If you look at your patient, whom you have diagnosed with interrupted family processes as defined in your NANDA-I 2012-2014, with defining characteristics as given on page 311, you will see lots of things to give you ideas. To get you started, the definition of "Interrupted family processes" is, "Change in family relationships and/or functioning."
If, for example, you observed one of the many given defining characteristics, "Change in availability for emotional support," what do you think a goal for a family with that as a problem might welcome/do well with?
Likewise, for fear, page 361, "Response to perceived threat that is consciously recognized as a danger." There are general, cognitive, behavioral, and physiological defining characteristics to make this diagnosis. Any of them should give you ideas about goals.
See, you are not responsible for creating all this stuff out of thin air. As a matter of fact, you cannot. You, and every nurse, must use the NANDA-I 2012-2014 (current edition) for all nursing diagnosis work. If you have this book, which I heartily recommend to every student and which I use myself daily in my own nursing business practice, you will have almost all your work done for you.
Don't cheat yourself out of the best reference for nursing diagnosis you can have-- the only one that lists them all, all of their defining characteristics, and all of the related (causative) factors for each. It's not huge, it's only $29 at Amazon.com, free 2-day delivery. Order it tonight (Monday) and have it by Weds.
