I have been a nurse for over a year now and there is a chance that i might be moving to Brazil in february. I need to start somewhere and I'm getting ready to sign up for portugese classes. I'm wondering if there is anyone who can give me an idea as to how to get this started, my options or just what i would have to do requirement wise. anything woul be greatly appreciated..........

thanks,

shannon

First, you will be required to write their nursing exam in Portugese. You will need to go thru an imigration process that will give you a visa that will allow you to work.

Your biggest problem is going to be getting fluent enough to be able to write the exam, medications are completely different in names and form that is available in many cases. Medical terms are not usually taught in a routine language course.

These are just a few of the things that come to mind.
