Nursing outside the hospital in MD

Published

I graduated from nursing school in June 2010. I worked for approximately 3 months as a corrections nurse PRN but when a full time job became available at a local rehab hospital I jumped at the chance to take it. I have been working there for 5 months. I am starting to think hospital nursing is not for me. I would really like to find a job in a doctors office or even in newborn nursery but in this area the only jobs I can find are in hospitals and even those are few and far between. Any advice? Right now I am seriously reconsidering why I became a nurse every night that I work I am nausous and want to cry:confused:, I just feel like I would do much better in a office setting. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Meg I'll be praying for you that the Lord will open a door for you in a Doctors office. Sometime he places us in a sitiuation that we don't always like, but he has a reason for it that many times we don't understand. He has a work for you to do there that he hs called you to do.Someone may cross your path there and he has a reason for your being there. God knows all about what your feeling and going thru.Go to him with all those concerns,he will make a way.

Thank you. I am going to trust in him and pray he can help me to get where I need to be. I can't handle crying every day that I work for much longer.

Thanks Meg,Yeah I would like to move to Fla be closer to my parents and work as a CNA,I have seen the pay is a little better in a hospital? then in a ALF.I'm crunching the numbers,to see how this will work. Do you have your BLS Cert? I'm working on that as well. I wil be praying for you. Meg is an easy name to remember.

Take Care :)

I hope you find a job soon. Have you tried looking at some other non-hospital settings like community health centers, group homes, health department clinics, or schools?
