Question about New Graduate Missouri Temporary Permit

Nursing Students Online Learning

I am hoping to have a graduation date of June 16th with EC, but I will have finished all school requirements by the end of April. The internship for the unit I want to work in are only started two times during the year. They are June and January (for all nurses wanting to work in this unit...only twice per year). Anyway....I am wondering if it will be possible for me to get a permit to work as a nurse even though I haven't technically graduated (however, all my transcripts will be complete because everything will be done by the end of April). I'm so sad if I can't get one because that will mean I'll have to work somewhere else until January when the next internship is started. Does anyone know if I can get the early permit in MO or do I actually have to have technically graduated. Thanks for any help.

Melissa,

I ran into the same situation here in Texas. It would be best to call the Missouri BON and ask - or contact Excelsior and ask for the State Boards Office.

For the purpose of obtaining a GN permit in Texas (which I believe is largely the same as a temporary permit) I was able to use my completion date rather than my graduation date.

Good luck to you!

Thank you so much for the information. I really appreciate it. I did e-mail them today so hopefully I'll hear back from them soon. Thanks again.
