Is it better to use the most current nursing books for EC? I know they have books that they suggest you study from but is it wise to use the more affordable older editions? Anybody have any sources to recommend?

Thanks,

mona b

Personally, I don't use the books recommended by EC. I do use their content guide and go by that. You can find any of the information you need in basically any book, so I've bought older (not ANCIENT) textbooks. You can usually get a good deal at half.com or ebay. I'm sure that their recommended books are good, but so far I've done fine without them. I don't think that it matters where you get your information from so long as you get it somewhere.

I agree with tncannurse...... most of that info. doesn't change. Now if the test were about current laws and the sort, the most current book would probably be important. But hey---- anatomy books don't change much, and neither do med surg books. A few years shouldn't make any difference. I used books from when I was in LPN school and even from before that. The one book I did buy I got for $20 on half.com. If you keep your eyes open, there are ways to save big bucks that you can use to party with when you're done. :D
