nursing as a 2nd career - RN vs. BSN and timing

Nursing Students General Students

I am looking to go back to school to become a nurse. I have my BS in biology so I think I should be able to complete a program in less than two years. As I have been researching programs, I am finding that there are some fast-track 2nd degree towards a BSN nursing programs as well as general programs at hospitals and community colleges to become an RN. Is it better to have a BSN? Also, I have been out of coolege for 6 years and am married, and my husband and I are thinking about starting a family soon. Is is crazy to think about being pregnant and in nursing school at the same time? Should we wait until I finish a program? Thanks for any advice!

Here's what I'd do if I was in your shoes. I'd go for the BSN program since it won't take long to finish as a second degree. I'd have the baby as soon as possible and not wait to finish school before starting a family.
