Nursing Magazine subscriptions

Hello Everyone :)

I'm a 2nd semester nursing student and I'm thinking about subscribing to a nursing magazine. I think the minimal cost for the subscription would more than pay for itself with the information in each magazine sent... My question is... 'What magazine should I get? Does anyone have a suggestion for a starter nursing magazine? The objective of course being to help me pass the state boards when the time comes! :) I plan on taking both the LPN, and RN state boards.

thanks in advance for any advice!

Sue

https://www.magazines.com/ This one might be good, but to help you with passing boards an NCLEX book would be better. It teaches you how to answer those types of questions and also helps prepare you for tests in school. At my school reviewing 2500 NCLEX questions is required for 4th semester "Transitions to Nursing Practice" for credit in the class. A really good book divides questions by body system or topic, like Psych, and also has review material before each section.

Why lpn and rn? Won't the rn trump the lpn?

She is probably going to take the LPN once she has enough school to be eligible and then continue to get her RN while working as an LPN...just a guess;)

Yes, I plan on taking the LPN for the practice as well as a back-up plan just in case life happens and I have to take a break for awhile. I don't plan on doing that, but if family gets sick, ect... And being able to work as an LPN while finishing up the RN doesn't hurt either :)

I get Lamp, which is the Australian Nurses Union magazine. I think it's brilliant. It keeps us up to date on all the political issues and campaigns going on around Australia to improve nurses rights at work and patient safety.
