Hi,

I am getting conflicting answer on this question and I trying to find the right answer. I took my NCLEX in Georgia and I received the nurse compact license. I then moved to California and I became a nurse practitioner and I have been practicing in California for about 3 years. I was wondering would I be able to become license as a nurse practitioner in Arizona, Colorado using my compact nursing license that I received in Georgia?

Lots of good info on the compact website. From the moving fact sheet, if you move from a compact state to a non-compact state, your license in the compact state becomes a single state license. By living in CA as your physical state of residence, you no longer have a compact license. Your GA license is only good for GA. Unless you relocate to a compact state, you will need to hold single state licenses in each state you want to work in. If you were to relocate to AZ or CO and they are compact, you can apply for a compact license by endorsement. You cannot hold a compact license without having your legal residence in a compact state.
