Nursing license on the line

Hello, I a RN I went to Walmart to purchase 300 worth of food and I put some items to the side to make sure I was going to buy them or not and apparently I forgot to scan them and bagged it. Walmart says I took 58.17 in food and the pressing charges for petit theft. This is my first petit theft charge as I do have other criminal past history on my record. I went to court a they offered 6 months probation and my lawyer turned it down. He also states I'm not eligible for diversion program due to criminal past 20 years ago for driver license in Fl. What am I to do I haven't reported it yet and I'm still working I didn't get arrested and I'm not sure if acha knows yet I can't afford to lose my license I have special needs child someone please if you had similar situation please help me
