Wow - two very different geographical areas with very dissimilar populations and challenges. I believe that the new grad job outlook in EP is very good. UTEP School of Nursing does not offer a CCRN, but they do have other graduate programs.
You may not have realized this, but your two choices are the only two states in the US with mandated Nursing Peer Review processes. We've had it in Tx since the mid 80's, but Kansas joined us in the 'oughties'.

Hey folks! So in the midst of my planning anxiety I've run out of places/people to run to and ask for suggestions so I decided to pop in here and ask you guys for help.
I am a nursing student in my last semester of school trying to figure out what's going to be best for my future. I would like to become a CRNA someday but that work is obviously still in process. I will be graduating with my ADN this May and starting a BSN program online while at the same time hoping to start my experience work at an ICU. Question is whether I should stay here in Kansas or go back to Texas where the rest of my family is located and work there a year or two while working for my experience before NA school.
Any insight on what nursing jobs are like in Kansas or Texas? Salary comparisons? Benefits? More specifically in Wichita KS and El Paso TX?
Even if you don't have this information I'd still love to hear some advice on what I should look for in a job as a new grad nurse. Any help will be greatly appreciated :-)
